Today Isn’t Too Late…

  • to begin.
  • to fear not doing something more than fearing the risks.
  • to ask that one girl/guy out.
  • to start a new business.
  • to take dancing lessons.
  • and then dance.
  • to pick up a new (and positive) habit.
  • to travel.
  • to learn a new language.
  • to start saving money.
  • to start giving money to a good cause.
  • to ask forgiveness.
  • to forgive someone else.
  • to love until it hurts.
  • to live life with a full heart.

It’s not too late to live a better story.

But too often we imagine now to be too late. Too late to start something new. Too late to change your life and begin living the way you want to. Too late to let go of the past and move forward into something better.

So we stand to the side and watch others do what we wish we had done yesterday.

But is it ever really too late?

Maybe you did lose yesterday. But today is the too late of the future.

Today isn’t only yesterday’s lost chance. Today is now. Today is possible. Today is alive.

Today the sun rose. Darkness broke and gave in to the light. The cold melted away like ice cream on a summer day. Newness surrounds us like a warm blanket.

All we really have is today.

And since we do have today, then it’s not too late. If this is your excuse, then it is time to find a new one.

Of course, the other option to finding a different excuse is to begin. To make today count. To take a step forward no matter how small it might be.

To stop thinking about life as success or failure, and to start thinking about life as an opportunity.

And of course, this isn’t something you only do today. The same goes for tomorrow. And the day after that. And the day after that.

But for now, focus on what you can do today.

What have you been telling yourself it is too late to do?
